This park was created in1983 by Jaime Duque Grisales, a renowned Colombian aviator, with the purpose of offering a space for entertainment, culture and education. Over the years, it has become a place that integrates great architectural works, cultural spaces, nature and wildlife conservation projects.
During the visit you will be able to see some of its most emblematic buildings and sculptures, including the replica ofTaj Mahal, theMonument to GodAnd theColombian Aerospace Museum, which brings together an important collection related to the history of aviation and space exploration.
One of the park's main attractions is theWakata Biopark Nature Reserve, whose name means “The Sacred”. This space is focused on the rescue, protection and care of animals that have been victims of illegal wildlife trafficking.
Along the route you can visit different habitats and get to know different species:
-Tropicary:Anaconda, boa, python, spiny dragon, turtles, frogs, Magdalena crocodile and white-headed marmosets.
-African savanna:Hippopotamuses, ostriches, Watusi cows, water buffaloes and lions.
-Zigzag route:Tigers, jaguars, white-headed marmosets, llama, goats, rabbits, chickens, gray foxes and moorland danta.
-Aviary:Parrots, macaws, king chicken coop, eagles, owls.
-Islandsof Primates: Spider monkeys, capuchin monkeys, corn monkeys.
-Condor Region:Andean bear, Andean condor, pumas.
-Interaction zone:Ponies for children (subject to conditions per park park).
